What Exactly is Fuel Economy Anyway?
Fuel economy is a measurement of how efficiently a vehicle burns fuel. Generally speaking, fuel economy is calculated by the miles per gallon (mpg) or kilometers per liter (km/l) of fuel that a vehicle consumes. The more distance per tank of fuel, the better the fuel economy. There are a variety of factors that can affect fuel economy and, with a few changes in driving habits, more time can be spent behind the wheel and less time at the pump. Gas prices are rising, wallets are shrinking and people are looking for ways to save. Ford knows this and has dedicated itself to become the leader in fuel-economy. Not only has Ford featured 12 vehicles with best-in-class fuel economy (more than any manufacturer) which included four models that achieve at least 40 mpg, but Ford has pledged that each new product Ford puts out will be the leader or among the leaders in fuel economy.
